Start with the equipment

Compare the complete carbon-handling arrangement

A granule or pellet is normally evaluated as retained media, while a powder trial also needs a dosing and solids-separation plan. Before asking for equivalent quotations, describe the vessel or contact tank, the available media support and the equipment used to unload spent carbon. A purchase that fits the process is easier to compare than three prices for unrelated physical forms.

Include loading losses, rinsing or conditioning, operating checks and disposal arrangements in the comparison. Where an existing grade is being replaced, retain a reference sample and record its current duty.
